Prayers, beautiful prayers

Prayers, beautiful prayers

A PRAYER TO OUR LADY SEAT OF WISDOM ( by Saint Thomas Aquinas )

O Mary, Seat of Wisdom, so many persons of common intellect have made through your intercession admirable progress in their studies.
I hereby choose you as my guardian and patron of my studies.
I humbly ask you to obtain for me the grace of the Holy Spirit, so that from now on I can understand more quickly, retain more readily, and express myself more fluently.
May the example of my life serve to honor you and your Son, Jesus. Amen.
Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, Pray for us!

PRAYER FOR A GOOD HUSBAND OR WIFE

O Jesus, lover of the young, the dearest Friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future.
Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life.
Dearest Jesus, send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage.
May her/his character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart.
May s/he be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care.
Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it.
May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth.
O Mary Immaculate, sweet Mother of the young, to your special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future wife/husband.
You are my guiding Star!
Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God's Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love and harmony in this life, and attain to eternal joys in the next. Amen.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration is adoring or honouring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ. In a deeper sense, it involves "the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us".

During Eucharistic Adoration, we "watch and wait", we remain "silent" in His Presence and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist ...
By worshiping the Eucharistic Jesus, we become what God wants us to be!
Like a magnet, The Lord draws us to Himself and gently transforms us.
In its fullest essence ...
Eucharistic Adoration is "God and Man reaching out for each other, at the same time!"

"Come to Me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Are you tired because of the burden of your duties, because of frustration due to unsuccessful projects, because many misunderstand you?
Are you heavy laden with guilt from past sins?
Are you trying to find hope and meaning in life?
Do not lose heart!
Abandon yourself to Jesus in this "Sacrament of Love": He will refresh you!
The more time you spend with Jesus, the more you will come away feeling renewed and healed.
Miracles of conversion, peace, discovery of vocations, answers to prayers, physical healings, and many other wonderful things happen where and when the Lord Jesus is adored in the Blessed Sacrament.
They are the "gifts" that point to the Almighty Giver and testify to His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament...
Let us love being with the Lord!
There we can speak with Him about everything.
We can offer Him our petitions, our concerns, our troubles, our joys, our gratitude, our disappointments, our needs and our aspirations.
Above all we can remember to pray: 'Lord send laborers into Your harvest!
Help me to be a good worker in Your vineyard!'
When asked, "What would save the world?" ...
Mother Teresa replied:
"My answer is prayer.
What we need is for every parish to come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in holy hours of prayer."

The Blessed Sacrament is the LIVING FOUNTAIN OF LIFE where we drink in the love of Christ Who alone quenches our thirst.
Thus, our time spent with our Beloved Saviour in Adoration, can become the most profound, meaningful, joyful, peaceful and healing experience we could ever encounter!
May our adoration never cease!
O, SACRAMENT MOST HOLY!
O, SACRAMENT DIVINE!
ALL PRAISE AND ALL THANKSGIVING BE EVERY MOMENT THINE!

A Catholic Prayer for the Grace From All the World's Masses

Eternal Father, we humbly offer Thee our poor presence, and that of the whole of humanity, from the beginning to the end of the world at all the Masses that ever have or ever will be prayed.
We offer Thee all the pains, sufferings, prayers, sacrifices, joys, and relaxations of our lives, in union with those of our Lord Jesus here on earth.
May the Most Precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood, Wounds, and Agony save us, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PURITY

Jesus, Lover of chastity, Mary, Mother most pure, and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin, to you I come at this hour, begging you to plead with God for me.
I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity.
Obtain for me, then, a deep sense of modesty which will be reflected in my external conduct.
Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul, from anything that might dim the luster of a heart that must mirror only Christlike purity.
And when the "Bread of Angels becomes the Bread of me" in my heart at Holy Communion, seal it forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures.
Heart of Jesus, Fount of all purity, have mercy on us!

A PRAYER AFTER MASS (by St. Thomas Aquinas)

I give thanks to Thee, O Lord, most holy, Father Almighty, eternal God, that Thou hast vouchsafed, for no merit of mine own, but out of Thy pure mercy, to appease the hunger of my soul with the precious body and blood of Thy Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Humbly I implore Thee, let not this holy communion be to me an increase of guilt unto my punishment, but an availing plea unto pardon and salvation.
Let it be to me the armour of faith and the shield of good will.
May it root out from my heart all vice; may it utterly subdue my evil passions and all my unruly desires.
May it perfect me in charity and patience; in humility and obedience; and in all other virtues.
May it be my sure defence against the snares laid for me by my enemies, visible and invisible.
May it restrain and quiet all my evil impulses, and make me ever cleave to Thee Who art the one true God.
May I owe to it a happy ending of my life.
And do Thou, O heavenly Father, vouchsafe one day to call me, a sinner, to that ineffable banquet, where Thou, together with Thy Son and the Holy Ghost, art to Thy saints true and unfailing light, fullness of content, joy for evermore, gladness without alloy, consummate and everlasting happiness.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PEACE

O Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your Apostles: "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you," regard not my sins but the faith of Your Church, and deign to give her peace and unity according to Your Will: Who live and reign, God, world without end. Amen.

PRAYER BEFORE MASS

Receive, O Holy Trinity, One God, this Holy Sacrifice of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which I, Your unworthy servant, desire now to offer to Your Divine Majesty by the hands of this Your minister, with all the Sacrifices which have ever been or will be offered to You, in union with that most Holy Sacrifice offered by the same Christ our Lord at the Last Supper, and on the Altar of the Cross.
I offer it to You with the utmost affection of devotion, out of pure love for Your infinite goodness, and according to the most holy intention of the same Christ our Lord, and of our Holy Mother the Church.
O God, almighty and merciful, grant us through this Holy Sacrifice, joy and peace, a holier life, time to do penance, grace and consolation of the Holy Spirit, and perseverance in good works. Amen.

MORNING PRAYER (GMT+1)

In the name of the Father + and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
"Almighty and Eternal God, behold I come to the Sacrament of Your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
As one sick, I come to the Physician of life; unclean, to the Fountain of mercy; blind, to the Light of eternal splendor; poor and needy, to the Lord of heaven and earth. Therefore, I beg of You, through Your infinite mercy and generosity, heal my weakness, wash my uncleanness, give light to my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness.
May I thus receive the Bread of Angels, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, with such reverence and humility, contrition and devotion, purity and faith, purpose and intention, as shall aid my soul's salvation. Amen."- A Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas

NIGHT PRAYER (GMT+)

In the name of the Father + and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Omnipotent Father, through Your infinite power and divine grace, we have come safely through this day; blessed be Your Holy name.
Grant us, Lord, a restful night and a perfect end to this day.
Keep us from every evil dream and fantasy so that the devil would not harm our body and soul with sin.
Free us from every evil seen and unseen and welcome us under the shadow of Your protection.
Keep us as the apple of Your eyes and give us the grace to see another blessed day. Amen.
O my good Angel, whom God has appointed to be my guardian, watch over me during this night. Amen.

PRAYER FOR SUCCESS IN WORK

Glorious St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my many sins; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop, by means of labor, the gifts received from God; to work with order, peace, prudence and patience, never surrendering to weariness or difficulties; to work, above all, with purity of intention, and with detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account which I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success so fatal to the work of God.
All for Jesus, all for Mary, all after thy example, O Patriarch Joseph.
Such shall be my motto in life and death. Amen.
