Advent is a time of quiet preparation for the birth of Jesus. Wereflect on those aspects of our lives that are in need of renewal, and offer our gratitude for the many gifts we experience each day.
Every week in Advent, we light a candle. Each candle reminds us that the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, will soon come to us.
We invite you to join us in your spiritual preparation this first week of Advent by lighting a St. Jude Vigil Light and sending your special intentions to the National Shrine of St. Jude.
Long ago the prophet Isaiah promised that “the Lord himself will give you this sign: the Virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Emmanuel.” Jesus is that sign for us. He dwells as God among us, the center of our faith and the foundation of our hope.
May your prayer through St. Jude continue to bring you blessings this Advent season.
