Catholic
Men for Life, a lay apostolate at
Anchorage’s Holy Family Cathedral, has invited all local Catholic men to gather
on Saturday, Oct. 25, to peacefully pray for an
end to abortion.
The all-day vigil will begin with a 7 a.m.
Mass at Holy Cross Church .
From there, the group plans to assemble in front of a local Planned Parenthood abortion
clinic at 4001 Lake Otis Parkway to pray and bear public witness to the value of unborn human
life.
Participants are invited to take part for
however long they can.
According to organizers, the purpose of the
event is to “provide a prayerful, manly,
Catholic witness to the evil of abortion” with
the hope that “men will be strengthened in prayer at Catholic Men for Life
events, and then carry the Catholic pro-life
witness into their daily, working lives.”
The upcoming effort coincides with the ongoing 40 Days for Life prayer vigil, which began in October outside the Planned Parenthood
abortion clinic.
Supported by the Dominican priests at Holy
Family Cathedral, Catholic Men for Life gathered at the same location last year
and were joined for part of the day by Anchorage Archbishop Roger Schwietz.
